Wooden Plane Clearance Sale

Today I added over 80 wooden planes to my For Sale Page. I picked up these tools at estate sales, in box lots in auctions, and other random places. I find it hard to pass up a good, usable plane. I usually keep them around for a while, hoping to find a mate or someone looking for some good starter planes. With the start of the spring tool season coming soon I need to make some room on my shelves. So I’m selling off the planes I have left-over from the past year at low prices.

I hope you find something you like. Thanks, as always, for reading!

Today I added over 80 wooden planes to my For Sale Page.  I picked up these tools at estate sales, in box lots in auctions, and other random places over the past year. I imagine that these are going to sell pretty fast so I’ll do my best to keep the page updated in real time. I’m also offering quantity discounts if you buy in quantity.

This list includes a 70 hollows and rounds. This selection includes a nice mix of British and American planes- all in good or better condition and all absolutely usable. The British planes are especially nice- most having blades bedded at 52 degrees or higher and some having skewed blades, both of which help the planes to work in hardwood. Matched pairs of hollows and rounds are nice, and everyone wants them, but they are fairly uncommon.  Most of the time I find singletons like these. While matched pairs are nice you can do some fine work with a few common sizes of single planes. These are also great planes for beginners to practice tuning and using.

I also included some unmatched tongue and groove planes- perhaps you will find one  you need to complete a pair. Otherwise a tongue plane can be used along with a plow to make a nice T&G joint. A dedicated grooving plane is handy to have for running groves for drawer bottoms, raised panels, etc.  Finally, I added a couple of usable wooden jack planes and a really nice pump or gutter plane made from cherry.

I hope you find something you like. Thanks, as always, for reading!

As always, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
