OldTool Sale Today

Hi Folks,

I added around 100 tools to my For Sale list today. It’s a lot of good stuff including some really nice Stanley bench planes and a lot of other fun stuff. Take a look and let me know if you find something you like. I will do my best to have everything shipped out before the Thanksgiving holiday so you might see your goodies on Black Friday- Old Tools are better than anything you can find at Best Buy at 3am!

Speaking of Thanksgiving, I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. We’re planning out usual family gathering here at our place. I’m heading out to pick up our turkey from the farm up the road. It will spend a couple of days brining then into the oven on Thursday morning while the kids watch the parade on Thanksgiving. It’ll be our yongest daughter’s first Thanksgiving and an excellent opportunity for her to show off her new crawling and furniture-surfing abilities to her family. Sure it’s cute, but she’s fast. I think we’re in trouble with this one.

I’ve been incredibly busy the past two weeks. Besides the usual packing, shipping, and preparing the new for sale list, I had to do a lot of clean-up form the hurricane then the usual  fall chores and winterization tasks.  I spent a few days in the back woods cutting up some large trees that fell in the storm. Lots of free firewood! One big hickory has a nice straight trunk that might be millable which would be really nice if it works out. As a result, it has taken me longer than usual to respond to email. Please note that I try to respond to all email within 24 hours. It might take a little longer in some cases, but I will reply.

That’s it from here. Look for the next batch of tools on 12/3. I’m going to try to fit in two updates before the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s. I’ll do my best! Thanks for your support.

Josh

New Old Tools For Sale Today

Hello everyone!

I added a batch of some 140+ tools to my For Sale page today. Have a look and let me know if you find something you like.

There are a number of new subscribers to this email list since my last update. If you haven’t ordered from me before please take a quick look at my Terms of Sale. It’s all very simple but a bit different than you might be used to. One word of warning- the tools I post usually sell pretty fast.

Around here we have returned to normal after Sandy hit us a week ago. There are still many without power and utilities, and a heck of a lot of cleanup to do. Overall we were very, very lucky.

Two weeks ago I spent a few days at the Lie-Nielsen Hand Tool Event in Manchester, CT. I brough some old tools to offer for sale and a few of my own to demonstrate. It was a fun and successful two days and I got to meet a few of you for the fist time which was great. I meant to take photos as the weekend progressed but time got away from me and before I knew it it was over. Thankfully jeff Burks had his camera at the ready, as always, and snapped lots of photos which you can see here.

One quick shot for you- from right to left Peter Follansbee, me, Matt Cianci, and Fred Roman trying out a big British jointer I brought with the intention of selling but wound up falling in love with and keeping for myself. Now I have to sell my no. 8!

OK! I have a fresh cup of coffee and some Skittles I stole from my daughter’s halloween bucket. All ready to sell some tools.
