I posted a new batch of tools to my For Sale page today at noon ET. This update includes some excellent carving tools, some very nice Stanley planes, molding planes, and other assorted goodies. I will have all items packed and shipped within 48 hours so anything sent USPS Priority Mail should arrive before Christmas.
This will be my last update until the first Monday of 2013. I’m taking an extra week off for the holidays to relax a bit and spend some extra time with my kids and family. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year. I truly appreciate the business and support you’ve given me over the past year. I’m truly lucky to have such loyal customers.
I want to thank those of you who wrote to check on us after the horrible events in Newtown last Friday. While none of our friends or family were involved, all of us, the entire country, were deeply affected by what happened. Newtown is a bare 10 miles up the road from us. It’s literally the last place in the world I would have ever expected something like this to happen. It’s been especially hard for my wife and I since almost every child who was killed was in first grade, and the same age as our daughter. After keeping the news from her all weekend we had the terrible job last night of telling her what happened. We had to tell her, a six year old mind you.. a girl who still completely believes in Santa Claus, believes that the tooth fairy did actually visit last week to take her tooth from under her pillow, believes that silly elf on the shelf does actually go back to the North Pole every night to report to Santa.. I had to tell her that in this world monsters are real and that sometimes children die. We couldn’t avoid it- her school would be talking about it this week for sure. Many of the students and teachers lost friends and family that day. What made it hardest for me was that she understood what happened- that those kids and teachers are gone forever. That was the hardest part.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading.
