Lunchtime Tool Sale Today

Hello Everyone,

Here’s a new list of tools for you to look over while you enjoy your lunch (or breakfast on the west coast.. or dinner in Europe) The new list is here: http://hyperkitten.com/tools/ForSale/Tools_FS.php It contains about 130 fresh tools of all sorts- lots of new Ashley Iles carving tools, some good Stanley planes, a couple of interesting Spofford braces, molding planes, etc. I hope you find something you like.

This list contains four mitre boxes. If you have been following the mitre box market, you will have been sure to note that the “craze” has peaked and prices have returned to normal which is great news for anyone looking for a good usable mitre box. I have four Millers Falls Langdons on this list in various sizes and configurations. I just got my shipment of custom triple wall boxes to facilitate shipping these beasts. They will be shipped in two boxes- one containing the box, the other the saw. There is just no good way to protect a fragile saw from that mass of cast iron if packed in the same box. They aren’t cheap, but they are guaranteed to arrive safe, work well, and be satisfactory in every way. If you are interested in one please drop me an email with any questions.

Summer is almost over and the kids go back to school next week. It doesn’t feel like fall yet- today will reach 90 degrees and we’re just starting to get the first tomatoes from the garden. It’s been a rather disappointing year for vegetables- the beans were attached by bean beatles, the pumpkins by squash borers, so neither did very well. The cucumbers went crazy though, and the tomatoes look good so far. By mid-September we’ll be making sauce I hope.

For the past four years, with a few exceptions, I’ve been posting new tools on the first and third Mondays of every month. That schedule will change slightly. My day job just changed our furlough schedule, granting us an extra half day per week. Still not full time, but I’ll take it! This means I will need to move my scheduled tool sales to the second and fourth Mondays of the month starting in September.

As I mentioned last time, I added a Parts and Projects section to my For Sale web page. I’ve been adding all sorts of blades, kits, and misc. pieces from time to time and the stuff seems to be selling pretty steadily. I will continue posting new parts and projects as time allows so keep an eye out.

That’s it for now. Thanks for reading!

Mid-Summer Tool Sale Today

Hello everyone,

It’s a beautifuld ay here in CT. Although it’s early August it feels like early October. This morning it was cold enough to send the kids off to camp in sweatshirts. What a difference from a few weeks ago! The past few weeks have been busy ones, including a 4 day trip to the massive tool show and auction MJD held out in central NY. I’m happy to report that I came home with a truck full of good, usable tools. This new list contains about 130 new items, and a few left-overs from last month that have been marked down in price. Please have a look here and let me know if you find something you like.

I added a section to my Tools For Sale webpage called “Parts and Projects”. In this section I will continuously add items to this section when I have a chance. It will random tool parts that someone might want as well as “project” pieces that need a bit of time and labor to make them work.

Finally, the next list should be out on Wed., August 21, a departure from my normal first and third Mondays of each month.

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading!
