Awesome Beech Handled Slitting Gauge

Marked "D. Dennison" at the toe. Definitely professionally made probably by a planemaker. The entire gauge is beech save the boxwood thumbscrew. The handle closely resembles one you would find on a wooden bench plane with a long, sweeping horn. No chips or cracks anywhere. Some very small tight checks on the end of the beam. The beam is connected to the handle with a double pinned wedged mortise and tenon. The bottom of the handle has two brass rollers to allow the gauge to roll along the work or bench top. The blade is good with a nice decorative finial. I haven't found any records for a D. Dennison. $60
