Your ordering process is archaic. I know. The problem is there aren't any affordable online sales platforms that can handle multiple simultaneous requests for the same item. The only way I can handle this is using email. I try hard to balance ease of ordering with low overhead and a good customer experience.
Can I request specific tools? Sure thing. Send me an email and I'll see what I can do. How to contact me.
Do you have any Stanley planes? Probably not. Stanley planes are in such high demand that I can't keep them in stock.
Do you buy tools? Yes! I am always interested in buying good tools, whether it's one item or an entire collection. Keep in mind I live in Connecticut and don't travel much outside of New England since I have a day job and a busy family. I prefer to sell on commission but will buy items outright if time is of the essence. Contact me to discuss.
Do you buy vintage power tools? Nope. If it has a cord, I'm generally not interested in it. That's not my market.
Can you tell me what this tool is and how much it's worth? I'll do my best. Send me photos by email or text and I'll try to help. How to contact me.
Can I get an email alert when you add more tools to the list? Short answer: no. Slightly longer answer: I used to send emails when I added tools to the list. I had to stop this a few years ago. The email list grew to the point where I couldn't keep up with the number of responses I received. Many people asked for the same item at the same time which left lots of people upset and me very stressed out.. I'm fully aware that this is, as my friend Ben puts it, a "Cadillac problem". Lately I've been adding smaller batches of tools to the list more frequently as I can. Less stress for me, fewer unhappy customers.
Do you have a store I can visit? Nope, sorry. I work out of my basement and garage. You don't want to see my basement.
Are you on Social Media? Sort of. I'm always pressed for time between work, my family, and the tool business. I don't do much with social media because I know I'm going to neglect it. I'm @HKToolCo on Instagram. I have a Twitter account but I don't use it. I'm not on Facebook. I read and contribute to /r/handtools on Reddit once in awhile. That's about it.
