I specialize in vintage woodworking and machinists tools. My focus is on providing usable tools to people who work with them.
I have a large selection of parts from ranging from the common to the esoteric. Also included in this list are "project" tools... tools that need a little help but are worth of the effort of restoring them.
My library of tool and woodworking related resources. Articles, vintage tool advertismets, and the Stanley bench plane type study

Finally about done.. my summer project. We built a wildlife pond. It's been a busy summer around here. I've had the kids home with me since summer camp was cancelled. Our big project was building this pond. It came about for two reasons. First we had a pretty deep sunken area I'd been planning to fill in for years but never got around to it. Second, we used to have a pond/marshy area back in the woods with all sorts of wildlife in it. That area became filled in with silt due to runoff from a construction site uphill from our property. Our oldest daughter read an article in the NY Times a few months back about building ponds to attract birds and wildlife. So.. one thing led to another and we built a pond. It's about 35x20 and only a few feet deep at it's deepest. The birds love it and we have three frogs who have taken up residence. The branch is there on purpose to give the birds a perch and to offer the minnows some cover. I'm still waiting on parts to arrive for a solar pump which will allow me to get rid of the extension cords and garden hose. We also need to add more plants both in and around the pond. It's close enough to done to share it.
Once in a while I write stuff about woodworking, tools, etc..
