This is a good, usable plane. It has minimal wear, an excellent knob and tote, and a near full-length blade. All of the adjusters work well. It has some light, scattered pitting on the body and discoloration. I've cleaned it just enough to check for cracks or damage. It's a "type 8" made ca. 1900. A good, solid worker, nothing exceptional. $125

This plane has the most beautiful rosewood tote I've seen on a Stanley plane. The color and grain is without equal. Both it and the knob are free of damage. The plane has light wear from use but no damage. The blade is long and clean. It'lll make a great worker, aside from looking amazing. $75

This plane has seen a decent amount of use but has no damage or excessive wear. It was made during the "type 11" era ca. 1910-1918. The blade is a later, pre-WWII replacement. The knob and tote are in good shape. The frog adjusters still work well. A solid worker. $55

This is an especially clean example dating to the 1920s SW era. The blade is honed sharp and appears to have been used recently. $28

This Sheffield-made plane has never been used. It has light specks of discoloration from sitting in its original box for 40+ years. Record was still making excellent planes at this point in its history. $90

This is a Canadian-made Stanley no. 4 in excellent working condition. The sides and sole are clean. The japanning is near 100%. The knob and tote are free of damage. The blade is long, clean, and free of pitting. All of the frog adjusters work well. I've cleaned it just enough to check for damage. It's seen minimal use and remains an excellent working plane to this day $70

The knob has some flaking finish, which is the only real flaw. The blade is absolutely perfect- original length and with a back as clean as they come. An excellent plane to put to work. This is a 'type 11" era example dating to 1910-1918. It's in excellent condition, free of damage, and with minimal wear. The adjusters work perfectly. The blade is long and clean. It's the same as the more common 9 1/2, but 1in longer. A great general-purpose block plane. An ideal working example $40

This is a 1920s SW era example. It has its original blade, which is long and free of pitting. The rosewood sole is especially thick and clean. The handle has a paint splotch, but is otherwise excellent. It's a superb scraper to use- the adjustable blade angle makes it super easy to match the angle of the bur. $90
