This is the second-largest jointer Stanley produced. It's 26in long with a 2 5/8in wide blade. It's 2in longer than the no. 8 and uses the same blade. This is a "Liberty Bell" plane. It's not a Bailey- it uses a completely different adjusting mechanism. It was offered as a lower-priced option to the more expensive Bailey patent adjuster. The liberty bell plane adjusters aren't great. They offer only a coarse adjustment and no provision for lateral movement. They are still great workers, however. All you need to do is treat it like a wooden plane and adjust the blade with a hammer. Use it like this, and it'll be a solid user. This example has light wear from us,e including a few scrapes on the sole. The blade is nearly perfect and has zero pitting. The knob and tote are excellent. At only 7 1/4in long, this is the smallest wood-bottom plane Stanley made. It's a very good example with some light wear from use. It's free of damage and has a perfect blade. The adjusters wor well. It has minor scratching on the sole. A solid worker that will me a good user if you appreciate wood-bottom planes $35

This iis a fair example with some wear. It has no damage, but it's not the prettiest. The knbo and tote are free of damage. It's marked with the June 28. 1904 patent date on the toe. The blade is usable, but has heavy discoloration as shown. It will work, but it won't win any beauty contests $24

This isn't a great example, but it's usable. It has wear from use. The corners of the sole have been chamfered. The blade is in poor condition, but it's not original. I can supply a decent replacement blade if you intend to use it. The adjusters work well. The knob and tote are in good shape. It's definitely usable, but nowhere near pretty $45

This is the "standard" block plane, made by Stanley for nearly a century. It has an adjustable mouth, and has both a blade and lateral adjuster. This one has seen only light use- there is some japanning from the lever cap as expected. Otherwise the japanning on the body is perfect. The sides and sole are especially clean. This plane is a "type 13" dating to the 1920s. It has minimal wear and 95% or better japanning. The rosewood knob and tote are perfect. The blade has some discoloration on the back but no pitting. All of the adjusters work well. It's a perfectly usable plane that will make a fine worker. $70

This is a classic wartime Stanley jointer plane. It has all of the wartime substitutions. The adjusting wheel is bakelite. The screws are all steel- there's no brass. It has stained hardwood handles, not rosewood. The frog does not have the adjusting screw. The plane is in perfectly usable condition. The sole is flat as per my straightedge. The frog adjusters work perfectly. It has a long, clean blade free of pitting. It only needs a quick grind and hone to get it into working condition. Both the knob and tote are free of damage. It's a solid working example, not a collector's item. $110

This is not a 12 3/4. It has a two-piece sole with a space in the middle, similar to the 12 3/4, but the block sizes are wrong. The bed is marked 12 1/2. The sole blocks are simply a former owner's replacement for the original sole, not an attempted forgery. The blade is original. The scraper is in good, usable condition. $50

This plane has the worm-drive screw adjuster. It comes with one original 1/4in blade. This plane cannot hold standard Stanley-type blades unless you file or mill slots in the back to engage the spirals on the adjuster. It's in very good condition, perfectly usable. $65

This plane is a "type 1" based on the type study, but it doesn't have a lateral adjuster, nor does it appear to have ever had one. It's all correct as per the type study otherwise. It's perfectly usable, free of damage. The adjusters work well. The mouth adjusts easily. An interesting plane likely dating to the late 1880s. $40
