I'll be honest- I have no idea how this works. I can't find any documentation on it. Based on the other tools it came with, I'd bet it was purchased from Lee Valley or Garrett Wade in the late 1990s. At the very least, it has six Norton stones with minimal wear and no damage. Other than that, it's up to you to discover its mysteries.

This shave was made and sold by the Cincinnati Tool Co. It has a round sole that can work into circles 4in diameter and larger. I've seen a few of these over the years and only a couple without damage. The cast iron is thin and fragile, easily broken if dropped or the screws are over-torqued with the retaining plate askew. This one has one tiny, minuscule ding in the back of the mouth. It's small enough that it could be a casting flaw. It's the best I've found. The blade is long and clean, free of pitting. It's completely usable, and a rare find.

This saw has a uniquely shaped handle. The "nosed" design tells me it was made by a New York or NJ maker, maybe Richardson. The interesting thing is that the handle is tiny- about 2/3 the size of a normal handle. It's secured with split saw screws. There is no etch or maker's mark. The plate is decent- it's straight but does have some discoloration. The teeth are okay- a couple are broken, but the rest are in decent shape. It could use a filing if you want to use it. It's currently 16ppi crosscut. I can't recall seeing one like it.

It was obviously well cared for based on the length of the blade and lack of any damage. There is plenty of blade left to use and no pitting on the back. It has perfect double boxing. This saw is marked P.H. Walker, Boston. It's clearly on the early side with a riveted handle and forged hardware. the EAIA DAT has an entry for Walker operating in Boston ca. 1855. The Winsted Edge Tool Works is best known for making chisels under the T.H. Witherby name. They made other tools and brands as well. This is a very long socket paring chisel with a very elegant taper from the socket to the fine business end .It's unusually long, measuring over 15in long overall. It's a thin, flexible chisel for fine paring work. The blade is nice and clean with no pitting. A fine user chisel.

This is a small pocket knife hone made by Pike. It has a small water stone on one side and a leather strop on the other. It's barely used. Most interestingly, it retains its original pastboard package which is something I've never seen. An exceptional item
